Nerea’s story

Starting a new job in another country can feel exciting but also a bit scary. Luckily, with the right people by your side, it can turn into one of the best decisions you’ve ever made. We’d like you to meet Nerea, who moved from Spain to the Netherlands to start her new adventure.

Taking the leap

Nerea is from Spain and recently started working in the picking and put-away department at CEVA. Even though she’s only been there a few days, she already feels at home. “The feeling I got was that everyone is so welcoming. They really receive you with open arms,” she says.

From stories to reality

Before making the move, Nerea heard stories from other people who were already working in the Netherlands. “They told me how much fun they were having, not only at work but also living together with roommates,” she explains. It made her curious, and she decided to take the chance herself.

A smooth start

For Nerea, the process of finding a job through HOBIJ was quick and stress-free. “They reached out to me really fast. Within minutes or at least a day, they had already scheduled an interview to find the perfect place for me,” she says.

Now, she’s enjoying her new job and even the cooler summer environment at CEVA. “It’s a place with lots of possibilities to grow,” she adds.

Her advice

“At first, I didn’t know if I wanted to come to the Netherlands,” Nerea admits. “But life’s short, so take the risk. Don’t overthink it, just come here!”
