Why are my accommodation costs shown in two parts on my payslip?

Answer

Because of the PKS, your accommodation costs may be shown on two separate lines:

 

  • Deduction housing – free
  • Deduction housing – not free

 

Together, these two amounts are the total cost of your accommodation. Both amounts are deducted from your salary. ‘Free’ does not mean that part of your accommodation is free. These are technical terms used for the payroll calculation.
