What are you going to do?

As a technical assembly employee, you build and assemble metal parts into complete modules and constructions. You work based on technical drawings and clear work instructions. Your tasks include:

  • Assembling and fitting metal parts and constructions
  • Working from technical drawings and work instructions
  • Drilling and making holes and cut-outs in metal parts
  • Connecting different components
  • Checking dimensions and quality
  • Identifying and reporting deviations
  • Keeping your workplace clean and safe
You work independently on your tasks, while also being part of a team. Quality is important. That is why you carefully check whether the product has been assembled according to the drawing and specifications.

What are the working hours?

You start working in day shift. This way, you can learn the job step by step. In the future, you will work in 2 shifts. The working hours will be: 

  • 06:15 - 14:45
  • 14:00 - 22:00 
When you start working in shifts, you will receive a 20% shift allowance.  

Who are you?

For this position, we are looking for someone who already has experience in a technical environment. You do not need to know everything, but a good technical foundation is important. You:

  • Have experience with technical assembly, mechanical assembly or metalworking
  • Can read and understand technical drawings
  • Are comfortable working with power tools and hand tools
  • Work accurately and pay attention to quality
  • Can work independently and also work well with colleagues
  • Speak enough Dutch or English to understand work and safety instructions
  • Are available full-time
  • Can apply for a Certificate of Conduct (VOG), if required for the position
It is a plus if you:
  • Have experience in the defence, aviation or high-tech industry
  • Have experience with welding, spot welding or other joining techniques
  • Are familiar with quality and safety procedures in a production environment

What do you get?

As an assembly worker at VDL, you receive a gross hourly wage between €16.25 and €17.-, depending on your experience. This salary is paid out weekly, on Friday.  But wait, there's more:
