What are you going to do?
As a welder, you'll be responsible for MIG/MAG welding tasks ranging from simple to more complex shapes. You will also carry out various tasks, like gouging work and electrode-based manual repairs. Your responsibilities:
- Follow welding procedures and safety rules
- Read technical drawings and follow work instructions
- Check and prepare welding equipment
- Set up welding tools and weld seams according to guidelines
- Inspect materials for quantity and damage, and report any issues to the Hall Coordinator
- Use and maintain safety gear and take extra precautions when needed
- Work with the Hall Coordinator and Welding Process Specialist when there's a problem
- Keep track of your work on the provided route cards
- Use the provided hand, measuring, and lifting tools
- Remove welding residue with a brush and grinding tool
- Fix welding defects based on a repair report and procedure
- Keep you workspace clean and safe
What are the working hours?
You will work in a three-shift system: 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 / 22:00 - 06:00 *25 days vacation days per year, plus 1 week more during winter holidays. *No rotation possible, but it is generally accepted to have a break every 2-3 months to visit your home country.
Who are you?
- A VCA Basic Certificate in Dutch or English. If you don't have one, HOBIJ can arrange an exam for you
- MIG/MAG Welding Certificate and electrode experience
- Working at Heights Certificate, HOBIJ will arrange this for you
- Level B1-B2 of the English language
- A driver's licence B
- 1-2 years of experience with MIG/MAG welding
- Previous experience in metalworking with basic machining and fabrication is a plus
- Overhead crane operation experience is a plus
- You are physically fit and good at solving problems
- You are careful and detail-oriented
- You are flexible, driven, motivated, and ambitious
- You are willing to work in a 3-shift system and attend paid training before starting
- You are willing to take a fun game-based online assessment during the hiring process, to assess learning ability, cognitive flexibility, and problem-solving skills
- You are looking for a long-term job and want to grow within the company and potentially relocate to the Netherlands in the future
What do you get?
An excellent salary based on your experience, starting at €18.00 per hour. This translates into an average NET income of €676.13/week (after adding allowances and after paying taxes, rent, insurance, and more). Salaries can increase every year based on your performance.
