Introduction

Starting salary: €16.29 – €17.31 gross per hour, depending on your experience. As you grow at Sif, you could earn up to €23.10 gross per hour, according to the Sif salary scale.

What are you going to do?

As a CW TT Welder at Sif, you are an important part of making strong, high-quality welds. You will work with machines to weld large steel plates that weigh about 42 tons and are 27 meters long.

  • 20% of your job involves MIG/MAG hand welding
  • 80% of your job involves using robots with one or more welding heads
     
Don't worry if you don't know everything yet. Sif will train you, so you can improve your skills.  Your work helps build the large steel tubes (monopiles) used for offshore wind farms. These monopiles are strong enough to handle all kinds of weather, thanks to your careful and precise welding.

What are the working hours?

  • You will work in a three-shift system: 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 / 22:00 - 06:00 
  • 25 days vacation days per year, plus 1 week more during winter holidays
  • No rotation possible, but it is generally accepted to have a break every 2-3 months to visit your home country

Who are you?

Who are you? You have:

  • At least 6 months of recent experience with MIG/MAG welding, or you have recently graduated from a relevant welding course 
  • Ideally, experience in metalworking, with basic machining and fabrication
  • Ideally, previous experience operating welding robots 
  • Interest in being trained to operate the submerged arc welding robot 
  • A VCA Basic certificate in Dutch or English - if you don't have one, HOBIJ can arrange an exam for you 
  • English language skills at B1 - B2 level 
  • Physical fitness, analytical thinking, and mechanical problem-solving skills
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Experience in operating an overhead crane (an advantage)
  • A driver's license B 
  • Willingness to work a 3-shift system
  • Willingness to complete a game-based assessment test during the recruitment process to assess learning ability, cognitive flexibility, and problem-solving skills (if you enjoy playing games on your phone, you will find this test fun and easy!)
  • Interest in a long-term job with growth potential, possibly relocating to the Netherlands in the future

What do you get?

An excellent salary based on your experience. This means:

  • Junior (0-3 years of experience): starting at €16.29 gross/hour
This translates into an average NET income of €619.59/week (after adding allowances and after paying taxes, rent, insurance, etc.). 
  • Medior (3-5 years of experience): starting at €17.31 gross/hour
This translates into an average NET income of €658.46/week (after adding allowances and after paying taxes, rent, insurance, etc.). 
  • Senior (6+ years of experience): starting at €17.94 gross/hour
This translates into an average NET income of €676.76/week (after adding allowances and after paying taxes, rent, insurance, etc.).  Salaries are renegotiated every year, and based on performance, the amount can increase significantly. In addition, you get:
  • 8.66% holiday money build-up to compensate for free days
