What are you going to do?

As a Grinder at Sif, you play an important role in making sure everything in the production process runs smoothly. You follow drawings and instructions carefully to do your work with precision. Before you begin, you check your equipment and materials to make sure everything is in order and undamaged. Every day, you and your team work on massive steel plates up to 27 meters long! Safety is always the most important, so you wear the right protection and do a quick safety check before starting. Then, you set up your tools and use electric grinders and other equipment following the rules. You also keep everything organized by registering and scanning your work. At the end of the day, you make sure your tools are in top shape and your workspace is clean and safe. 

What are the working hours?

Working hours are from 7:00 to 16:30. 

Who are you?

• Previous experience with hand grinding for at least 6 months, or other relevant metal working experience
• You have a VCA Basic certificate in Dutch or English or are willing to obtain one
• Good level of English language (at least B1 - B2 level)
• Driving license and willingness to drive from accommodation to work
• For the Maasvlakte location, you need a scissor lift certificate.
• As a Grinder, you are essential to our production process and ensure everything looks impeccable
• You are interested in a long-term job
• You have good work ethics, feel at ease in a multicultural environment, and always strive to learn more
