Acting locally. Thinking globally.
Why? Very simple. Once you have found the job you love, and with the right employer, a whole new world opens up for you. You’ll enjoy yourself more at work and in your private life. Your bank account balance grows, and you grow as a person.
We help you get organised and settled in. So after our warm welcome, you are ready to get started. On top of that, we are always available to help you whenever you need us.
That is what drives us. As you will definitely feel as well.
Whether you are a new flex worker, a client, a supplier, or one of our internal HOBIJ staff members, you are part of the HOBIJ family. And this clearly shows in everything we do.
To keep moving forward, we have to keep innovating. To stand still is to fall behind. That is why growth, drive, and development are at the core of our business.
At HOBIJ, we always work with a goal-oriented and no-nonsense mentality. After all, you can get more of anything than you already have, except for time
The flex worker takes center stage, that’s for sure. Building upon this crucial foundation is our next step. And we expect the same from our clients and suppliers.
Working hard without losing sight of the fun in the game. That’s what we do. After all, humor puts things into perspective and strengthens the bond between us.
People who do what they’re good at, also do it with pleasure. And they do it passionately. Making the right match plays an essential role here.
Are you ready for that next step? Great. Then we are looking for you. Apply directly for a job opening or send in an open application. We’d love to get to know you.
The process in 6 easy steps.
1995
A few worn-out desks from Campina, a plan to do things differently, and a hefty dose of optimism. That is how HOBIJ started as a flex work agency. And even though Veghel already had around 23 temporary work agencies, this didn’t stop founders Han van Horen and Peter Bijvelds from going against the flow and setting up another agency. Their operational focus? Flex work and secondment.
1997
Our office soon becomes too small to house the staff we need, so we move into a bigger property. We also expand our services and open new offices. As the low unemployment rate in the Netherlands makes it hard to find workers at home, we are the first Dutch agency to recruit them from Liverpool.
2006
Peter Bijvelds resigns from the Board of Directors and the Management Team. He decides to continue his career in the sports industry. Han van Horen remains HOBIJ’s sole Director. 2007 sees HOBIJ making record sales and overall results. But then the economic crisis hits…
2008
HOBIJ decides to wind down and return to its initial business. We go back to what we excel in: placing flex workers and secondment. Recruitment is now mostly done in other EU countries. Expats who cannot wait to get started in the Netherlands are matched with Dutch companies needing them.
2009
We move into our new headquarters in Veghel, which is the former ABN-AMRO building. From then, we really kick off. HOBIJ invests in process professionalisation and the solid establishment of responsible services. At the core of all this is taking good care of our flex workers and our own staff.
2021
In 2021, we join forces with Labour Power Company. Thanks to LPC – and its large network of sister companies – we can strengthen our impact on the labour sector. This collaborative partnership enables us to overcome bigger challenges.
Han van Horen – the HO in HOBIJ – took a step back. Paul van Dieperbeek and Jan Willem van den Broek stepped forward. A new management team was formed. With this, HOBIJ is ready for the future!
